When we worship at St. Mark’s, we seek to create an environment where:

  • God is glorified,
  • Jesus Christ is Lord,
  • the Holy Spirit inspires,
  • people respond to God’s grace
  • and people go out into the world to serve.

More about what to expect.

Holy Communion

All who love Christ, earnestly repent of their sin and seek to live in peace with one another are invited to share in Holy Communion. Also known as The Lord’s Supper or the Eucharist, it is an expression of praise and thanks for all that God has done, is doing and will do to save us and restore us through Christ.

Communion is celebrated by eating the bread and drinking the cup (grape juice), which represent the body and blood of Christ. As we pray and receive the sacrament together, we are united with Christ, with one another, and in ministry to all the world. At St. Mark’s, we celebrate Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month and at special times during the year.

Music

God tells us to make a joyful noise! So we do – with piano, organ or guitar, and flute, fiddle or drums on occasion! We sing hymns and choruses together to express our praise and our sorrow to God. Instrumental and vocal groups, such as the Chancel Choir, Chancel Ringers and other ensembles, help place added focus on God in worship. Seasonal music presentations with orchestra add emphasis at special times of the year.

Children

Children

Let the little children come and worship! In all Sunday services, children are invited to the front of the sanctuary for a special story time designed to help them understand the main idea from the sermon. Afterwards, children may pick up tote bags containing activity pages, crayons and other items to keep little hands busy while they sit with their families. Childcare is also available in room 203 for children ages three months to four years during all worship services.

Wait! There's more.

Discover how a second hour on Sunday morning strengthens your faith journey. Christian education classes, offered between worship services from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m., provide a convenient opportunity to connect with other people as you seek to understand God’s Word.
